6th October 2026 8:34 PM EAT(Nairobi): My Korean Variant Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra (Model SM-S928N) has now received the stable One UI 9.0 update based on Android 17.
The Galaxy S24 units have started getting a new software update. It brings the stable version of One UI 9.0 (Android 17) for the phones in the lineup.
The update weighs 480MB for the Ultra models and comes with the September security patch. Of course, non-beta users such as myself will receive a much larger package, 3.744 GB.
With the Korean rollout now underway, Samsung will gradually expand One UI 9 for the Galaxy S24 lineup to the US and the rest of the world. A full-fledged global rollout may begin next week.
I will keep you updated on the new features on the One UI 9.0 on S24 Ultra such as the expected new AI features (Nudge, My FanCam etc) and how the ‘Samsung mighty’ handles them all.
Stay Tuned.
